The Daptomincine was the last antibiotic included into the war against the bacterias and it was in 1987. Now a research group led by Losee Ling, from NovoBiotic Pharmaceuticals, have just published the results obtained if a new antibiotic named Teixobactin. This new antibiotic, is able to eliminate the colitis, tuberculosis, conjunctivitis, meningitis or pneumonia-causing bacteria, and have proven that Daptomincine does not generate an immediate bacterial resistance.
[1of2]The bacteria and fungi only produce this antiobiotic on the ground, but this group has also managed a way to produce the antibiotics “tricking” the fungi and bacteria in the lab. Using a semipermeable membrane which simulates the natural conditions in which the microorganism produce the antibiotics. The researcher were able to analyze around 10.000 strains where Teixobactin was found. It could be marketed in 2020.[/1of2]
