Our latest publication spawned from our collaboration with Professor José Alemán!

A new approach for the synthesis of tetrahydroquinoline using flow chemistry under very mild conditions was described. The clue was the employ of visible light and a photocatalytic system for the cyclization of iodoaryl vinyl derivatives.

This class of molecules are one of the main objectives of the modern synthetic chemistry as they are heterocyclic structures compounds with interesting biological properties such as anti-HIV activity, antifungal, properties and antitumor as well as antidepressant activities (https://chemistry-europe.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/ejoc.202001018).

Congratulations to the team!
